Bei diesen handelt es sich vor allem um Paläontolog:innen, die im Rahmen\neines Forschungsprojekts etwa 300 Millionen Jahre alte Knochen ausgraben. Dank\ntektonischer Plattenbewegungen sind diese fossilen Schätze heute in der Mitte\nDeutschlands im Thüringer Wald, der damals in Äquatornähe auf dem Superkontinent\nPangäa lag, zu finden. Die Fossilien, die bei den Ausgrabungen geborgen werden, sind\nwie Puzzleteile oder Pixel, die von den Forschenden analysiert und zusammengesetzt\nwerden. Ich begleite sie dabei und veranschauliche einige Teile ihrer Arbeit durch den\nEinsatz digitaler Medien. Dafür muss ich – genau wie meine Kolleg:innen – ziemlich viel\nPuzzle- bzw. Pixelarbeit leisten. Mayan women, who take care of the weaving, need several months to create a huipil.\nThe fabric for the huipiles is not only used for dresses: by being fabricated into bags, hats, coasters, lamps etc., the clothes get a second life as utility items which are then sold to tourists from all over the world. This painting invites us to wonder where those artistic cloths ended up?
